  • Experience sharing of grant proposal writing: Perspective from Multidisciplinary, Academic-industrial and Germination Program

Grant proposals play a pivotal role in advancing scientific research by providing the necessary resources to explore, validate, and expand innovative research ideas. Effective proposal writing is not only a fundamental academic skill but also a strategic competency that determines a researcher’s ability to secure funding and sustain long-term research goals.
This talk will provide an in-depth overview of the essential elements of successful grant writing, drawing upon experiences from multidisciplinary, academic–industrial, and germination research programs. Topics will include defining an appropriate project scope, understanding principal investigator (PI) eligibility, and structuring proposals to align with funding agency expectations. Attendees will gain insights into common reviewer concerns, how to articulate key performance indicators (KPIs), and practical tips for crafting competitive and impactful proposals.
Beyond individual applications, the session will also discuss strategies for managing multiple concurrent projects, balancing academic rigor with administrative requirements, and fostering sustainable collaboration networks. By integrating real-world examples and lessons learned from my funded projects, this talk aims to equip participants with both the conceptual understanding and practical tools needed to enhance their grant-writing success and research leadership.
