Chin surgery is a common procedure used to improve the problem of insufficient chin dimension. However, there are many variations in the shape of the mandible, including receding chin, short chin, asymmetric chin, etc. Every mandible needs to be adjusted in different directions. Traditional surgery or fillers cannot solve all situations. I report on the use of 3D-printing assisted custom made implants to improve various chin shape problems. First, use a 3D simulation system to discuss the direction of appearance change with the patient, use computerized tomography to obtain 3D data of the mandibular shape, and use 3D printing technique to print out a physical mandibular model. During the surgery, the Medpor implant was customized and sculpted. There are two main purposes of sculpting. The first is to make the inside of the implant fit as closely as possible to the bone, and the second is to make the overall mandibular look natural and smooth. This method allows various types of chin defects to be appropriately improved. The surgical results were favorable and patient satisfaction was high.
