Cleft care in developing countries faces multiple challenges. Issues of medical personnel, poverty, and transportation are critical factors that hinder cleft patients from receiving comprehensive care. The Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation (NCF) has applied a program of international medical mission to assist Asian countries in setting up local craniofacial centers to provide sustainable and comprehensive care for cleft patients, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The program also combines development projects, such as medical professional training, medical subsidy, and instrument donation. The program has supported around three thousand cleft patients to receive comprehensive care annually in eight countries.
