  • Rhinoplasty using diced cartilage wrapped with fascia and their pathological findings

Technique using diced cartilage grafts wrapped in fascia has recently become one of the standard methods for dorsal augmentation. We used this method for the nasal reconstruction after removal of implants and the second revision of cleft lip nose.
The diced cartilage cubes were placed in the bag made from fascia. They were grafted onto the nasal dorsum. This procedure had several advantages including getting natural contouring and enough volume, absence of foreign body reaction. It was also soft to the touch compared to prosthesis. It had lower risks of infection and exposure and provided more psychological comfort.
We believe that this is the good method for the nasal augmentation and reconstruction.
