  • Implant Breast Reconstruction: Step by Step How to apply ADM

Breast implants are widely used for post-mastectomy breast reconstruction. That’s because acellular dermal matrix(ADM) made implant breast reconstruction easier and safer. Actually, ADM is known to provide support to mastectomy skin flaps and minimizes fibrosis and the inflammatory response associated with the implant, thereby reducing capsular contracture.
Since ADM was first applied to subpectoral implant breast reconstruction, various methods have been introduced. It can be applied by the lower pole sling method while sub-pectoral implantation, or it can be used for pre-pectoral implantation using wrapping or an anterior coverage method. Recently, a P1 method that combines the two techniques has been introduced
In this presentation, the author will present the various methods to apply ADM for implant breast reconstruction with video clips and introduce the author’s preferred method.
