  • The Composition of Anti-aging Scales for Facial rejuvenation – Assessed with Artificial Intelligence

Objective: We designed a specific assessment system, in which four angular and six linear measurements between static and mobile points pre- and post facial aesthetic procedures. The artificial intelligence (AI) integrate the measurements into a summative scales (0-100).

Material and methods:We enrolled 16 Asian woman (n=32) to undergo one treatment of modified bold-lift 6-point calcium hydroxyapatite fillers injection (CaHA, Radiesse®) between July 1, 2021, and July 1, 2022. We assessed the effects on week 0, 4, 12 and 24 by using our specific angular and length measuring system with AI-assisted anti-aging scale. Standardized imaging photographs were obtained with the same AI integrated device (OBSERV A+, Myguard, Taoyuan, Taiwan). Index 5 is
known as “neutral” or “no significant changes”, more or less than 5-point identifies either “better” or “worse” for rejuvenating results.

Results:The average eyebrow–tail and pupil–eyebrow peak angle increased by 0.4° (p =1.887) and 1.4° (p < 0.0001), respectively, at week 24. The eyebrow–orbital length and vertical–palpebral–fissure length increased by 0.38mm (p=0.0002) and 0.37mm (p=0.1860), indicating the supraorbital tissue were lifted. Besides, lifting of the mid- and lower-face, as well as bony contouring for the jawline were dramatically marked by the decreased tragus–oral and lower–facial–contouring length by 12.21mm (p=0.0001) and 10.31mm (p=0.0098). The anti-aging scale improved from 50 to 56.89 in average at week 24.

Conclusion: After processing the photos with the standardized filming system with our associated A-I software (OBSERV®520x, Taiwan), the specific landmarks could be immediately and accurately defined and measured via the training data sets, which helps to provide formative and comprehensive informations .Moreover, this scale facilitates cohort studies of different aesthetics treatments.
