Application of intrinsic flaps to the hand to enhance aesthetic outcomes
The concept of like-to-like reconstruction is essential in facial aesthetics when reconstructing defects of the visible part of our anatomy. Similar aesthetic unit paradigm can be applied to the hand by designing flaps to fit the functional and aesthetic needs. A case based example will be applied to demonstrate the elegance of flap design to optimize the appearance of the hand.
