3D imaging is a helpful tool for analysis of abnormal pathology, evaluation of shape, size and form, assessment of difference between the objects, and appraisal of growth and development along the time course. In surgical simulation, 3D imaging has been used to produce positional guide, patient specific implant, surgical navigation, among others. Accuracy of the surgical osseous movement has been achieved by using 3D simulation, and better outcome has been obtained. Currently 3D printing has been incorporated into 3D simulation to enhance the surgical performance.
