Reconstruction of Clitoral Hood and Labial Minora by Y-V incisions on Penile flap and Preputial flap in Male-to-female Sexual Reassignment Surgery
Gender dysphoria is defined as a conflict between the biological gender and the gender with which the personal identifies. The therapies include hormonal treatment and sexual reassignment surgery (SRS) which is often the last and the most considered step for transsexuals with gender dysphoria.
The surgical procedures include vulvoplasty and vaginoplasty which are aimed to achieve the cosmetic and functional concerns on these transsexual patients. Techniques of clitoroplasty and minor labiaplasty are essential to create the landmarks of female vulva. In my personal experience, I make a ”Y” incision on the middle of penile flap and a “V” incision on the dorsum of preputial flap, which are coapted to create the clitoral hood and labia minora.
Comparing to the previous procedures, this Y-V flaps technique represents excellent outcomes by constructing the three-dimension of clitoral hood and labia minora in a one-stage surgery. Here, I exhibit my personal techniques and share the experience.
